Standards

The Actual News publishes what a record states: a vote, a measurement, a filing, a time, a count. It does not publish an editorial column. It does not lean toward a party or a government.

A story page carries a headline that states the fact, the date of the record, the sources, a body without evaluative adjectives, and a list of claims that were removed as opinion or not included.

Loaded language, partisan labels used as smears, speculation framed as proof, and unattributed motives are out. Attributed quotes remain when the speaker and the words are in the source. The desk does not invent live world events. Ingested items keep the source name and a canonical link. The desk does not scrape paywalls.

The de-opinion page exposes the same pipeline used to train the eye: input article text, output a factual summary and the phrases dropped. The function is a pattern stripper. It is not a court and it is not a model with a secret key.

Preferences filter the feed by topic and region. They do not change the wording of a story. There is no paywall and no comments desk.
